Little Captains Academy is a licensed, five-star, family child care home located minutes from downtown Raleigh and Knightdale. We offer Transportation Services, After-school care, Track Out Camp, Spring & Winter Break Camp, Parents' Night Out, and traditional child care for children aged 2 years - 12 years old during afternoons, evenings and overnights (second & third shifts).

Stephanie Shell

Director

Stephanie is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and a graduate of Christopher Newport University and Myers University with studies in Early Childhood Education, Human Resources, and Business Management.

She has over twenty years of experience, having worked with companies such as City & Guilds Institute, U.S. Department of Defense, Guilford County Schools, and Maryland State Department of Education. Her most notable education adventure led to the founding of Little Captains Academy; a licensed five-star, family childcare home dedicated to helping children learn, play and grow with a focus on STEAM2 curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math & Music).

LaWanda McIntyre

Early Childhood Education Expert

Lawanda known as "Mrs Mac" is a native of the great state of Texas. She owned and operated her family child care home in Wake County from 2003 - 2017. During that time she earned three degrees, an Associate degree in Early Child Care & Education, a bachelors in Early Childhood Education, and a Masters degree in Education with Leadership Certification.

She has over 20+ years of experience in the education sector.

Aarolyn Casillas

Early Childhood Education Expert

Aarolyn is native of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a graduate of Ashford University, with a Master of Arts in Teaching & Learning with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. She has over 30 years of hands on experience with government, private, and public child care programs. Aarolyn loves working with children and families, in her spare time she is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) focused on providing balanced observation & input for families in need.
